WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SHEAR INTEGRITY

Every pair of professional shears entrusted to Shear Integrity receives careful inspection, documentation, service, and protection. Our goal is to preserve your investment, communicate clearly throughout the process, and provide the highest standard of professional sharpening possible.

To the Professionals Who Rely on Precision

Professional scissors are not ordinary tools.

A stylist, barber, or groomer may hold a pair of scissors for much of the working day. Over time, those scissors become an extension of the person using them. Their weight, balance, tension, movement, and familiar feel all matter.

That is why Shear Integrity treats every scissor with the seriousness and care we would give an heirloom—or a pair of our own.

Sharpening should restore the performance of your scissors without taking away their identity. When your scissors are returned, they should still feel familiar in your hand. They should feel like your instrument, not like they have been reshaped around the preferences of the person who sharpened them.

It has to feel like you—not us.

Our standard is simple: return every scissor looking pristine and cutting like new—or better. We always aim for better.

Precision sharpening is a collaborative effort. It requires careful workmanship, honest communication, complete documentation, independent inspection, and one final inspection that only the owner can provide.

Every Scissor Begins With an Evaluation

Before work begins, we examine the condition of the blades, edges, tips, pivot, tension system, handles, inserts, bumper, and other working parts. We look for previous sharpening, unusual wear, missing metal, damage, corrosion, alignment problems, or repairs that may be needed.

Not every scissor arrives in the same condition, and not every scissor requires the same approach. We explain what we see and, whenever possible, discuss the available options before proceeding.

The final decision concerning your tools is always yours.

We document the condition of the scissors because professional work should never have to depend entirely on memory or assumptions.

Before-and-after photographs help establish the condition in which the scissors were received and the condition in which they were returned. When appropriate, we may also provide short videos, close-up examinations, comparisons, or explanations of anything unusual that we discover.

Documentation Protects Everyone

It protects the professional who owns the scissors. It protects the technicians performing the work. It creates a clear record and allows questions to be answered with evidence rather than guesswork.

If it is worth sharpening, it is worth documenting.

Our Process Does Not End When an Edge Has Been Created

The scissors must be cleaned, properly adjusted, inspected, and tested. The pivot-to-tip area receives particular attention because it is one of the most important and frequently damaged areas of a professional scissor.

Every scissor is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, inspected, properly adjusted, and tested. Each component is examined individually so nothing is hidden or overlooked. Tension, alignment, blade movement, set, curvature, tips, inserts, bumpers, screws, and all other working parts are checked and corrected as part of the service. Repairs and replacement parts are included at no additional charge. Two technicians. One standard.

A second set of trained eyes helps confirm that the scissors are clean, properly adjusted, visually presentable, and performing as expected before they are returned.

However, even careful testing in our hands cannot replace testing in yours.

You know your scissors. You know how they normally feel, how they move through hair, and how they perform during your everyday work. That is why every completed service includes one final inspection—yours.

After testing your scissors, we ask that you acknowledge the results. A simple reply, check mark, thumbs-up, or message gives everyone closure and confirms that the scissors have been returned to work successfully.

We document. You verify. Everyone leaves confident.
Trust Is Earned

We do not ask anyone to accept claims without inspection. We encourage professionals to examine their scissors, compare the work, ask questions, and confirm the results for themselves.

Trust should never be demanded.

Trust is earned through consistency, transparency, communication, and work that can withstand examination.

Honest Service

Shear Integrity also believes in honest service.

Not every pair of scissors is designed to last forever. Some inexpensive or heavily damaged scissors may not justify extensive repairs or repeated sharpening. When that happens, we will explain what we see and discuss the practical options.

If you decide to proceed, the scissors will receive the same care and respect we give every other pair.

Your tools. Your choice. Our integrity.
Our Responsibility

Our responsibility is not simply to make a scissor sharp. Our responsibility is to protect the tool, preserve as much usable metal as possible, maintain the correct geometry, restore dependable performance, and keep the finished result familiar to the professional who relies on it.

A bad haircut will eventually grow back.

Metal unnecessarily removed from a professional scissor does not.

That is why careful handling, proper storage, routine maintenance, documentation, and responsible sharpening are so important.

Our Commitment

Shear Integrity exists to provide more than a sharpening service. We aim to provide a clear, documented, educational, and professional experience from the moment your scissors are received until the moment you have tested them yourself.

*We will document the work.

*We will explain what we see.

*We will treat your scissors with respect.

*We will ask you to inspect the results.

Because the job is not truly complete until you are confident putting your scissors back to work.

One Final Inspection—Yours.
